The beloved Waffle House hit the big 7-0! Who knew? Did you?
I absolutely love diners, and Waffle House holds a special place in my heart. Each time I visit, I sit and watch the cooks whip up their kitchen magic. It’s like a race against time. Reminds me of a NASCAR pit crew. Dinner and a show, folks!
I like to think I’m part of the team with the open-kitchen layout. The atmosphere is friendly and fun like my days working at Ponderosa during high school. But let’s be honest; I’m not allowed behind the counter. Dazed and confused by the fast pace, I’d just be in the way. And what’s with the WaHo code servers use communicating orders to the cooks. Verbally, without writing them down. Then repeating the order to ensure accuracy. Wow! Impressive but too complicated for me. So, okay, maybe “team member” isn’t quite right—more like “member wanna-be but came up short.” Oh well!

WF Trivia:
FEMA uses the operational status of Waffle House restaurants to gauge the severity of a natural disaster. A full menu indicates little damage, while a limited menu or closed restaurant suggests a more severe impact.
Check out their cool merch, like the Limited Edition Halloween tee.
What’s your wildest Waffle House experience? If you’ve never been, I highly recommend a visit.
Happy Friday all. Until next time, have a good day! ~Hollie
