“Hello darkness my old friend.”

Daylight Saving Time ends on November 2.
Do you dread or embrace the upcoming time change?
Me? I like DST. I love the outdoors and enjoy the extra hour of daylight. Usually with the Fall time change I mainly focus on the extra hour to sleep.
Maybe this year, rather than letting the extra hour blend in to our day (night), let’s consciously decide how we’d like to spend it.
Maybe start a new routine of blocking out one hour per day for ourself? Unplugging from our phone and the internet. A quiet time reflecting on all the amazing blessings in our life. Sitting in silence and reconnecting with our inner self. Or, start reading that book we’ve been meaning to read, listening to our favorite music, meeting up with a friend over coffee. Ideas are endless. Let’s make it a priority. We deserve it!
To start I will read. I need to get back to studying the Bible (studying in Chronological order). My bookcases are filled with books I’ve trifted over the years, still unread. I’ve designated a chair in a spare bedroom as my cozy study and reading spot. Other days, I’ll listen to music, playing albums I’ve also collected. Sit and listen to the birds or nature. My goal is to be spontaneous with how I fill this timeslot. Something to look forward to and enjoy.
Will you join me in being intentional in capturing one hour a day just for ourself? I hope so.
If you do, please share how you plan to spend the sacred time.
Until next time, have a good day! ~Hollie
